Description

This course presents critical information regarding the diagnosis and management of hypertension in the primary care setting through interactive case presentations. The purpose of this course is to update all health workers with the latest advancements and guidelines for the proper diagnosis and treatment of hypertension patients. It will cover the principles of hypertension pathophysiology and diagnosis, recent hypertensive guidelines and trials, and the development of appropriate hypertensive regimens for both uncomplicated and resistant hypertension.

At the end of this course, the participants should be able to:

1. Identify the symptoms and signs of high blood pressure
2. Describe how hypertension can be measured in the body
3. Encourage patients to control and manage their high blood pressure
4. Understand the principal barriers faced by patients to control their high blood pressure
5. Apply recent guidelines and studies to hypertensive care
